Title: Wild
I was quite adventurous when I was young. I went hiking to the forests with my dad and when we were out for a picnic, I would go and explore. I love being out in the nature and growing up, I kind of question the transformation that I've been through as an adult.
Wild flower in a mason jar inside my bedroom represents the wild side that we have as kids. However, as we grow older, we no longer take risks. We forget to stop and smell the roses. We stayed inside our comfort zones.
The picture also laments the changes of lifestyle. While we used to play outdoor when we were kids, the younger generations do not have this kind of experience or rather they choose not to experience it. When I was young, I play hide-and-seek, chasing tails and jumping ropes while today, it's laptop, iPad or playstation.
As I photographing the wild flowers, they withered very quickly. This reminds me that process too happened to us. With the rigid rules and norms that we imposed to the children, they slowly underwent changes. They shed their wild sides and exchanged it with "adult-like" characteristics.
